SIMpossible explores a simple question: what would happen to everyday life if nature's fundamental constants were different? We're designing it as a space where anyone can play with, and discover for themselves, the possible effects on their lives if these constants were changed.

For each constant, we're aiming to create simulations which illustrate the effects of changing these constants at three scales: molecular scale, human scale, and universe scale. We chose these three scales because we feel they give people a tangible idea of how changes would affect them, the world around them, and the larger universe they live in.

The right-hand panel visualises the resulting changes in physical structures and cosmological evolution.
